Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that QBs aren't great players. Peyton Manning can dissect a defense better than anyone I've ever seen. Tom Brady knows how to lead a team. Quarterbacks are often a driving force in the success of a team.
But I think that they get too much credit. Often, highlights show the "great" throws that QBs make. But I can't stand it when an announcer goes on and on about some of these plays.
Many of the great throws by the QB are horrible. They get recognition because the receiver busted his ass to make up for the throw and get in position to make a catch. Then, after abruptly cutting off his route, they have to dive or make one-handed catches. And, the announcer says it was a great throw!
I have never understood how people can give so much credit to a QB who throws the ball up and has the receiver ...
