The 6'2", 260-pound defensive end has had 47 sacks in 85 games during his seven seasons with Philadelphia and Oakland.

He sat out the 2003 season with a torn achilles' tendon.

I'm not too sure how Burgess will fit in with this New England defense, as they have Richard Seymour and Ty Warren as their starting defensive ends. Seymour has missed a lot of time with nagging injuries, so Burgess could come in for him if he is injured again this season.
