Sherman’s “Dream Draft” vs. the Real Draft (Poll)

Earlier this week, I posted a slideshow article showing off my “dream draft.” The week ended with a challenge from my friends to let “the people” decide as to who was better.

Here’s the link to my origninal article:

Now here’s the link to my slideshow comparing picks one through five:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/162608-my-dream-draft-vs-the-lions-real-draft-pt-1-picks-1-5

The slideshow comparing the remaining picks won’t be available until tomorrow.

The motivation behind this was to see if the average Joe can out-draft his team’s front office. Can the average fan justify booing a “bad pick”? When they boo, is it because they think they’re smarter than the front office when it comes to drafting players?

Anyone who would dare compare their picks publicly must be a fool, an idiot, a moron!!!

Hmmm…

This look like a job for me!

It’s a simple task:  View the slideshows and vote.

Note concerning my draft: Thus far, all but one player were available for the Lions to pick. So for the most part, you can’t use the “Those players were taken” defense.

So with that being said, have fun with it!

Earlier this week, I posted a slideshow article showing my “dream draft”. The theme of the article was about how the Lions always figure out a way to ruin the draft.

After my friends had read the article, some of them wanted to call me out; to campare my picks to that of the Lions. OK, I’ll be their huckleberry.

Lets’ take a look at how my “picks” had fare up against that of the Lions and I’ll leave it to you to decide who had done better.

Today, we’ll cover picks 1-5, tomorrow picks 6-10.

Let’s get on on!!!

Detroit Lions: My Pre-Draft’s Night’s Dream (Humor?)

Hello folks and welcome to the 2009 NFL draft. I’m Chris Berman; alongside me is Mel Kiper.

The talk of draft week has been about the Detroit Lions and their GM Sherman L. McClesky. Any thoughts, Mel (Kiper).

Kiper: Expect a lot of moves from Sherman. He has the first pick and a bunch of furture picks; he’s going to “wheel and deal” in a younger squad for new coach Jim Schwartz.

Berman: Do you think he’s going with a QB with the first pick?

Kiper: I don’t think so. Look, he obtained Daunte Culpepper midway during last season; he’s going to give Culpepper a chance to prove himself.

Berman: What about a wide receiver?

Kiper: I hate to say it, but you can see the Lions drafting another wide out, except this time, we won’t see it in the first round. I think the Lions had learned their lesson from that.

Berman: Mel, what do you think is Sherman’s overall goal in this draft?

Kiper: When Sherman hired Jim Schwartz as head coach, he’d hired a defensive minded person; therefore, his goal is to establish the defense first; however, don’t be surprised if he starts off on offense first, particulary at the offensive line.

Berman: Well with that being said, we’ll take it down to the floor and to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Goodell: Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the 2009 NFL draft. The first pick of the draft belongs to the Detroit Lions; they are now on the clock.
