NFL Football Players Draft Injuries Rookies Season SuperbowlPublished: October 18, 2009
Matt Schaub has had a great season so far for the Houston Texans. Schaub in my opinion is looking like he is becoming a dominant QB force in the NFL.
Today against the 4-1 Cincinnati Bengals, Schaub went 28-for-40 with 392 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. It’s no surprise Schaub is having such a good season; he is throwing to one of the best WRs in the league.
Schaub has thrown for a total of 14 TD passes this year with over 1,800 passing yards. Schaub is only one touchdown away from tying his career high from last year.
Schaub played college football at Virginia and was chosen with the 90th pick in the 2004 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons.
He started in one game his rookie year and one in his second year for Atlanta. Schaub did not start any games in his third year on the Falcons. Schaub’s career stats as a Falcon included six touchdowns, six interceptions and 1,033 passing yards.
In 2007, Schaub was traded to the Texans for a pair of second round picks, in 2007 and 2008. The day after Schaub was acquired, former starting QB David Carr was released.
Schaub started 11 games in each of the past two seasons. In 2007, Schaub threw nine touchdowns and nine interceptions with 2,241 passing yards. In 2008, Schaub threw 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions with 3,043 passing yards.
Then we get to this year, which looks like the year that Schaub is going to finally be recognized as a top 10 quarterback. Schaub has only thrown five interceptions thus far and has 14 touchdowns.
Steve Slaton, Andre Johnson and Schaub are clearly the future of the Texans. In the next couple of years, don’t be surprised if Schaub is compared to guys like Brady, the Mannings, and Brees; or if he helps bring the Texans to the playoffs.
I believe after this season people will consider Matt Schaub a top 10 quarterback.

David Tyree is a name Giants Fans will never forget.
But before his unbelievable Super Bowl, Tyree was virtually unknown to NFL fans other than Giants fans. Most NFL fans today probably don’t even remember his name, they just probably call him that guy who made the amazing catch, but Giants fans definitely do.
In Tyree’s book he talks about how he was in a sporting goods store after the Super Bowl and a woman goes up to a man working at the store and asks if they have a David Tyree jersey. The man says no. Tyree was right by them the whole time and then realized they did not know what he looked like.
Tyree came out of Syracuse University and was drafted by the Giants in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL Draft.
What many don’t know is that Tyree was selected to a Pro Bowl in 2005 for his special teams play.
Before Tyree’s amazing catch he had only had four catches on the year for 35 yards and had not played in any of the Giants postseason games.
During the Giants practice before the Super Bowl, Tyree probably had his worst practice ever, dropping every pass that was thrown to him.
During the Super Bowl Tom Coughlin decide to put Tyree in despite his bad practice before the big game. I will guarantee you Coughlin never expected what happened next. Eli Manning threw a long pass to Tyree with Rodney Harrison all over him. Tyree miraculously caught the ball against his helmet and went down.
I don’t know how NFL fans do not believe this is the best catch of all-time. Also In the game Tyree caught a pass to help the giants take a lead late in the game.
After the Giants win in the Super Bowl he said God was the reason for him making that catch. It is hard not to believe him. After his Super Bowl Tyree went on shows like The Jimmy Kimmel Show.
After that catch Tyree never caught a pass as a Giant again.
Even though Tyree was cut during Training Camp and went on to the Ravens, Tyree will always be a Giant and will never be forgotten.

Jamarcus Russell is most likely the worst starting QB in the NFL. So far in his short career Russell has been a complete bust for the Raiders orginazation. Russell was drafted with the first overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. His playing so far this season has been nothing to be happy about if you are a Raider fan. I believe there are many back-up QBs in the NFL that are much better than Russell. Here are five NFL back-ups that should start for the Raiders instead of Russell.

Basically every preseason their is a battle for bragging rights between the Giants and Jets. This season the Jets won the game. It is one of the most interesting games of the preseason. Personaly I love when the two teams meet because the players play in it as if it were a regular season game. The Giants and Jets have somewhat even squads. So I decided to make The NFL’s All New York Team.
