NFL Football Players Draft Injuries Rookies Season SuperbowlPublished: April 21, 2009
Chad Ochocinco will be a Cincinnati Bengal this year. That is, if you believe reports from a news conference earlier today.
Head coach Marvin Lewis was quoted as saying that Ochocinco is not going to be moved. Even if the Bengals draft a wide receiver in the draft, it won’t mean that Ochocinco will be moved.
However, it was early last preseason that Marvin Lewis was quoted as saying “Chris Henry will not be brought back to the Cincinnati Bengals” after being cut from the team.
Most circles chalk that little gem up to owner Mike Brown having final say while Lewis only went on what he was thinking without factoring in the Brown effect.
The situation is slightly different this time around as it is dealing with one of Brown’s guys in Ochocinco, but you can’t fault a fan of the Cincinnati Bengals for not latching on to these reports as if they were the gospel.
The Bengals are sure to make a splash in this year’s draft. They have 11 picks to work with and a few players looking to get out of town that may garner some interest with other clubs.
Which way the draft will go for the Bengals is cloudy at best, but one thing is for sure: The Cincinnati Bengals will give us something to talk about come Monday morning.
