NFL Football Players Draft Injuries Rookies Season SuperbowlPublished: November 12, 2009
We are officially past the midway point of the season and the first part of the year has flown by. It seems like it was Week One just the other day. Now we’re getting into the playoff hunt and the best teams are starting to show themselves. A lot of the teams that no one expected to do anything are right in the thick of things, while other teams that were supposed to contend are near the bottom. So what should we expect from Free NFL Picks for Week 10 of the football season?
Chicago vs. San Francisco (San Francisco -3). The Niners are coming off a tough loss to the Titans last week while the Bears are coming off a beat-down at the hands of the Cardinals. Both teams have looked solid at times this season, while other times they’ve looked bad. Which version of both teams will show up this week? This is the kickoff of Thursday Night Football on NFL Network as well. As if you didn’t have enough problems getting away from the wife to watch football Saturday through Monday, now Thursday night gives you an option as well.
Jacksonville vs. New York Jets (New York -7). The Jets have been up and down this year although they are the better team between them and Jacksonville. However, as we’ve seen time and time again, the better team does not always win the game. The Jags dominated the Chiefs last week only to mess around in the last five minutes and almost lose. They will not be able to get by with that against the Jets this week.
Denver vs. Washington (Denver -3.5). The Broncos are coming off of two tough losses to the Ravens and Steelers. Luckily for them, the Redskins are definitely not the Ravens or the Steelers. The Redskins have been completely awful this year and there is no reason to believe that they won’t be awful in this one. With that being said, they do boast one of the best defenses in the league and the Broncos offense is not exactly a juggernaut. Expect a close game in this one and if the Redskins can get a lucky play or two, they might actually pull the upset.
Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh -7). The Steelers just beat the Broncos last week and they are riding high. While the Steelers got off to a bit of a rocky start this year, they have bounced back nicely. They have a nice passing attack with Big Ben and the ground game has gotten a boost from Rashard Mendenhall as well. The Bengals have been a nice surprise this season with only one loss on the year. The Bengals have already beaten the Steelers once this year. Can they go two for two?
Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titans (Tennessee -6.5). Neither one of these teams have exactly torn it up this year. In fact, they’ve both been pretty bad. With that being said, the guys in Vegas think that the Titans are still about a touchdown better than the Bills. How does that make you feel Bills fans? Things are not going good right now in Buffalo although Ryan Fitzpatrick has given them a bit of a boost. Vince Young looks to keep the good times rolling in Tennessee.
Detroit vs. Minnesota (Minnesota -16). The Vikings have been too much for a lot of teams to handle this year. Match them up against the Lions and it could be a blowout in a big way. With that being said, earlier in the year, the Lions hung tough against them for much of the game. It wasn’t until the second half that the Vikings took the lead and the win. The Lions will have to play very well if they hope to compete in this one.
New Orleans vs. St. Louis (New Orleans -13.5). New Orleans has reached Week 10 and they are still undefeated. Do you need anymore proof to believe that New Orleans is a legitimate Super Bowl threat? They have the best offense in the league and they just find ways to win. The Rams on the other hand…the exact opposite. They have one win under their belt and things are not looking good against the Saints.
Atlanta vs. Carolina (Atlanta -1.5). The Panthers have been pretty bad this year, but they appear to be getting better. They have put up a couple of good games here and they will give Atlanta a tough time this week. The game is at home, their defense appears to be playing better and the running game is going as well. The Falcons have been up and down. However, their offense has the ability to score on anyone at any time. This should be a close game.
Tampa Bay vs. Miami (Miami -10). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not go winless in 2009! However, they might only get the one win. This one will be a tough game at Miami. The Dolphins have played everyone they have faced tough, including the Saints and Patriots. If you are looking for week 10 Expert NFL Picks the Wildcat offense will be a tough for the Bucs defense.
Kansas City vs. Oakland (Oakland -1.5). This might be the only game this season that the Raiders are actually favored to win, even if it is only 1.5 points. In the last meeting, the Chiefs dominated the Raiders up and down the field and still managed to lose the game thanks to giving up a touchdown on the last drive of the game. Someone has to win this game.
Philadelphia vs. San Diego (San Diego -2). The Eagles and Chargers have been playing well lately. The Eagles are a better team, but the Chargers are at home. This one should be one of the best games of the week.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay (Dallas -3). Dallas has played much better in recent weeks. The Packers just lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If you are looking for Winning NFL Picks these are two teams that are going in opposite directions.
New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis (Indy -3). Not often do you see the Patriots come in as underdogs these days. However, when you travel to Indianapolis to face the undefeated Colts, you’re pretty much going to be the underdog. This should be one of the best games of the year between two awesome teams.
Baltimore vs. Cleveland (Baltimore -10.5). Only 10.5 points? This could be one of the worst possible games for Monday Night Football that they could have picked. However, the Ravens have not exactly been world-beaters lately after putting up a terrible showing against the Bengals last week.

We have passed the halfway point in the season and we’ve experienced a lot of highs and lows. Your favorite team has either established themselves as contenders or pretenders at this point and you pretty much know whether they have a shot at the playoffs by now.
This has been one of the strangest seasons in recent memory with so many teams at the top of the league and so many teams in the cellar. The idea of parity in the league has apparently been thrown out the window at this point.
There are multiple teams that are undefeated or have only one loss. There are also multiple teams that are yet to win or have only one victory. As far as Free NFL Picks go this should be an interesting last half of the season. Here is what to expect in the ninth week of the season.
Kansas City vs. Jacksonville (Jacksonville -6.5) This game features two teams that have been pretty bad so far this season. The Jags are favorites in this one, but this could be one of the most winnable games the Chiefs have had all year. The Chiefs managed to go on the road and win at Washington a few weeks back and this game is very similar. The Jags have already lost to the winless Titans and 41-0 to the Seahawks. There are definitely better games out there to watch this weekend.
Baltimore vs. Cincinnati (Baltimore -3) The Bengals have already managed to beat the Ravens once this season and they look to sweep them on the year. The Ravens are coming off of a big win against the undefeated Denver Broncos last week. Joe Flacco and Carson Palmer are both playing well this season and this should be an interesting battle at the quarterback position.
Houston vs. Indianapolis (Indianapolis -9) The Colts are still perfect and Peyton Manning is on pace to break Dan Marino’s all-time record for passing yards in a season. The Colts are very good this year and should be considered Super Bowl contenders again. On the other side of the ball, the Texans have been great on offense this year. Matt Schaub has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league so far. The Texans have a big question mark in the running game after last week’s game. Their starter, Steve Slaton, was benched after his first carry of the game was a fumble. He was replaced by Ryan Moats who went on to score three touchdowns and rush for over 100 yards. It will be tough for them to decide who should get the majority of the carries.
Washington vs. Atlanta (Atlanta -10) The Falcons lost a tough game to the Saints last week on Monday Night Football. This game should be substantially easier for them as the Redskins are awful right now. They had the easiest schedule in the league during the first seven games of the year and still only managed to win two games. The Falcons have a strong offense and it will be difficult for the Redskins to stop them the whole game.
Green Bay vs. Tampa Bay (Green Bay -9.5) Now that the Brett Favre/Green Bay saga is officially done for the year, the Packers can get back to focusing on winning again. The Bucs have been terrible this year and are currently winless on the season. Aaron Rodgers should easily pick apart the Bucs’ defense and Ryan Grant will have his way with them as well.
Arizona vs. Chicago (Chicago -3) Both teams have been a bit up and down on the season. The Cardinals have not been nearly as explosive on offense this season, however, their defense has improved. They are playing pretty good now and the Bears are not bad either. This should be one of the more entertaining games of the week.
Miami vs. New England (New England -10.5) This will be one of the most widely televised games of the week. The Patriots look to continue on their winning ways and the Dolphins try to get their season turned around. The Dolphins have played well but have had one of the most difficult schedules of any team. They played the Saints tough a few weeks ago and they will give the Patriots a good game with the Wildcat.
Detroit vs. Seattle (Seattle -10) The Lions allowed the winless Rams to get their first win of the season last week. They have played pretty badly again this year and the rebuilding project is going slowly. The Seahawks have looked up and down and lost to the Cowboys pretty handily last week. They should have an easier go of it this week against the lowly Lions.
Tennessee vs. San Francisco (San Francisco -4) The Niners took the undefeated Colts down to the wire last weekend and this week they are only four point favorites against a one-win team. Such is life in the NFL. The Titans played better last week with Vince Young under center, and they hope to continue the momentum against San Francisco.
San Diego vs. New York Giants (New York -5) The Giants have lost three in a row and look to be on a downward spiral. This week they get the inconsistent Chargers who have been playing well in recent weeks. The Chargers are always one of the most talented teams and usually find ways to lose. Therefore, this one is a toss up between two underachieving teams.
Dallas vs. Philadelphia (Philadelphia -3) The Dallas Cowboys have looked much better ever since they nearly lost in overtime to the Chiefs. They beat the Falcons and Seahawks pretty easily and this week they get a real test. If you’re looking for Winning NFL Picks, the Eagles dismantled the Giants last week and this week they look to keep it going. Will we get to see the Eagles team that messed around and lost to the Raiders? Or will we see the team that destroyed the Giants last week? Only time will tell.
Pittsburgh vs. Denver (Pittsburgh -3) The Steelers and Broncos square off on Monday Night Football this week. The Broncos proved that they are not unbeatable last week in a blowout loss to the Ravens. The Steelers have played good lately and are the favorites going into this one. Looks like another classic Monday Night Football matchup.

We’re almost at the halfway point of the season and it’s just starting to get exciting. Playoff races are starting to take shape and your favorite teams have established themselves as contenders or pretenders.
There are a few key games this week that will help some teams in their conference races. So what should we expect from this week’s lineup of games as far as Free NFL Picks go?
Here is what to watch for in Week Eight.
Denver vs. Baltimore (Baltimore -3)
One of the best games of the week comes when Denver travels to Baltimore. The Broncos are putting their perfect record on the line against the Ravens and it could be their stiffest test to date.
In spite of some recent struggles, the Ravens still have one of the best defenses in the league and the Broncos’ offense will be tested greatly. If Kyle Orton can keep from getting picked off two or three times, the Broncos will have a chance to stay perfect.
However, when you play at Baltimore, you know it’s going to be a tough game.
Cleveland vs. Chicago (Chicago -13.5)
The Bears lost by over 30 points last week.
Chicago heads into the week against Cleveland a 13.5 point favorite.
This is exactly the condition that the Cleveland Browns find themselves in–a heavy underdog to a team that just took a beating. Things couldn’t get much worse for the Browns at this point. They’ve traded away all of their stars and are basically looking toward the future.
The future just looks really far off at this point.
Houston vs. Buffalo (Houston -3)
The Texans have had one of the best offenses in the league this year and quarterback Matt Schaub has been on fire.
They took a bit of a hit last week when Andre Johnson was injured. His return is questionable for this week although the injury does not appear to be serious.
The Bills have made the switch to Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback, which appears to be the end of the Trent Edwards experiment.
The Bills are hoping that last week’s win against the Panthers was not a fluke.
Minnesota vs. Green Bay (Green Bay -3)
Although Minnesota won the first meeting between these teams a few weeks back, they are the underdogs in this game.
Coming off their first loss of the season last week, the Vikings will try to get things back on track. Adrian Peterson is still the best back in the league and Green Bay’s defense is vulnerable to the run.
Brett Favre is retuning to Lambeu Field for the first time since the controversial split between the Packers and their Hall of Fame quarterbak. With the stadium ignited, the game could turn into a shoot out between Favre and his former understudy, Aaron Rodgers.
Look for a good game at Lambeau.
San Francisco vs. Indianapolis (Indianapolis -12)
The 49ers have had a pretty good season so far, and they are trying to improve as they go. Michael Crabtree was recently inserted into the starting lineup and didn’t have a bad game for his first outing. They will also try Alex Smith as the starting quarterback again in what will presumably be his last chance to take the reins after being drafted No. 1 overall. Smith threw three touchdowns in the second half last week.
For the Colts, they are still rolling along with future Hall-of-Famer Peyton Manning at the controls. They are fresh off a beating of the St. Louis Rams and ready for more blood.
Miami vs. New York Jets (New York -3)
The Dolphins are coming off one of the most disappointing losses of the season against the undefeated New Orleans Saints last weekend.
The Saints outscored them 22-0 in the fourth quarter after what looked like a surefire win at one point. With that being said, the Jets are no Saints.
This should be a pretty even matchup between two decent teams. The Wildcat is in full force in Miami and Ricky Williams has experienced a rejuvenation in it.
Mark Sanchez is trying to get things under control again in New York and this game will be a good place to start.
Seattle vs. Dallas (Dallas -9.5)
There were a lot of questions floating around about the Dallas Cowboys before last weekend’s game. They were fresh off an overtime win in Kansas City and most people were calling for the coach’s head during the bye week. However, they proceeded to beat down the Falcons and regain some momentum in the NFC East.
The Seahawks have struggled to remain consistent so far and hope that they can get things going against Dallas.
Oakland vs. San Diego (San Diego -16.5)
This looks to be the weekend’s biggest mismatch according to the line.
The Raiders are still awful even though they managed to luck themselves into a win against Philly a few weeks ago.
The Chargers looked good last week against the Chiefs.
When you combine a good team and a bad team, you get a 16.5-point spread. However, that’s why they play the games. You never know when Oakland will pull another upset like they did against Philly.
Jacksonville vs. Tennessee (Tennessee -3)
The Tennessee Titans are winless on the season and it is now Week Eight. However, by some unbelievable turn of events, they are actually favored to win the game. Why is that? Oh, that’s right…they’re playing the Jaguars.
The Jaguars aren’t great, but surely they should be favored over a winless team, right?
This one should be a pretty close game between two struggling teams in the AFC South.
Carolina vs. Arizona (Arizona -10)
This is a rematch from last year’s playoffs and the Panthers are hoping for a different outcome. In that playoff game, Jake Delhomme turned the ball over about 17 times in what looked like a pretty lopsided affair.
The Cardinals just got done beating the Giants, who are actually a pretty good team.
This one should be interesting.
New York Giants vs. Philadelphia (Philadelphia -1)
As you can tell, this one should be a pretty close game. You’ve got two good quarterbacks in McNabb and Manning. You’ve got good young receivers in Jackson, Maclin, Manningham, Smith, and Nicks.
If you are looking for Winning NFL Picks ,this could be an aerial assault for the ages, so look into the over.
Atlanta vs. New Orleans Saints (New Orleans -10)
The Saints are one of the best teams in football at this juncture. They come in undefeated and just won in dramatic fashion against the Dolphins. Drew Brees is the best quarterback in the league and the Falcons will not be able to stop him.
However, the Falcons are no slouches on offense, either. They bring “Matty Ice” at quarterback as well as Michael Turner, Roddy White, and Tony G.
This should be a fun one in New Orleans on Monday Night Football.

Monday night football features two teams that are coming off of embarrassing losses to AFC West teams last week. The Eagles loss to the Raiders was the biggest surprise as the Eagles looked like huge favorites going in. However, the blitzing defense of the Raiders harassed Donovan McNabb all day long and he never got in a rhythm.
The Redskins are in complete disarray after losing a game to the Chiefs last week. They were the only team in NFL history to face a winless team in their first six games. However, they only emerged from that schedule with a 2-4 record. Things are not going well for the Skins. If your looking for Monday Night Football Picks what should we expect in this game?
The Redskins were so angry with the situation last week that they have stripped Jim Zorn of his play calling responsibilities. He will still be the head coach, but will no longer call the plays on offense. They are completely fed up with what is going on and are willing to try anything to make it right. Their defense is actually pretty good. Before the Chiefs game they were ranked no. 4 in the NFL in total defense. However, the offense has been anemic. Zorn tried inserting Todd Collins at quarterback last week to no avail.
On the Eagles side of the ball, expect them to come out firing. Every year, it seems like they lose to a team that they shouldn’t. Last year, they allowed the Bengals to tie them in a terrible game. This year, they let the hapless Raiders beat them. The Eagles are talented enough that they can compete for the Super Bowl if they play up to their potential. However, being talented and playing well are two different things. Expect the Eagles to show up again this week.

Sunday night is always a time to watch some good football, and this week will be no different. The Arizona Cardinals and the New York Giants square off in what should be a great NFC matchup.
The Giants are coming off of their first loss of the season and a pretty bad one at that. They took a beating last week against the Saints.
The Cardinals were struggling early on, but have finally started playing well and come in with a 3-2 record. So what should we expect out of both teams as far as Free Sunday Night Football Picks go?
For the Cardinals, it’s all about the passing game. They are led by two-time NFL MVP Kurt Warner at quarterback. Even though he is getting older, he is still one of the most accurate passers in NFL history.
When Warner throws the ball, a trio of talented receivers are there to catch it. Larry Fitzgerald is arguably the most talented receiver in the NFL today. His ability to go up in traffic and catch the ball is what separates him from the pack.
On the other side is Anquan Boldin, who is one of the best receivers in the league in his own right. He has been struggling with injuries all season and is listed as questionable going into this game because of a high ankle sprain.
If he can’t go, Steve Breaston will fill in, who was a 1,000-yard receiver last season as the third wideout. The Cardinals offense should be able to score some points, but the question will be whether the defense can stop the Giants offense.
The Giants will try to regroup after an embarrassing loss to the Saints last week. They hope to get it going again on the ground with Brandon Jacobs as well as through the air.
With Eli Manning at quarterback, they have spread the ball around nicely so far this year. He has found Steve Smith, Mario Manningham, and Hakeem Nicks with regularity. Expect this to be a pretty even matchup for both teams.

This weekend, the undefeated New Orleans Saints (5-0) square off against the Miami Dolphins (2-3). Although the Dolphins’ record doesn’t look that great, they are a better team than their record would indicate.
They dominated the ball against the Colts a few weeks back and amazingly lost even though the Colts only had the ball for 15 minutes the entire game. They are a tough team, and this should be a good game to watch. As far as Free NFL Football Picks go, what should we watch for in this one?
On the Saints side of the ball, it’s all about offense. Drew Brees has been the best quarterback in the league so far this year. His high-flying aerial attack is hard for anyone to stop, even with a good defense like Miami has.
The offense the Saints employ is designed to spread you out and create space. They have some talented receivers in Marques Colston, Robert Meachem, Devery Henderson, and Lance Moore. They also have a pretty good tight end in Jeremy Shockey.
Out of the backfield, they have a trio of running backs in Pierre Thomas, Reggie Bush, and Mike Bell that can all be effective. This is one offense that you don’t want to mess with. They are actually on pace to break the all-time NFL record for points scored in a season.
For the Dolphins, it’s all about the wildcat formation and bleeding the clock. They have revolutionized the wildcat formation and made it very difficult to defend. So far this season, they are averaging seven yards per carry out of the formation. Anytime your team is putting up seven yards per carry, you know you’re doing something right.
You can win a lot of games with production like that. Look for the Dolphins to try and slow the game down so that they can compete with the high-flying Saints.

The Dallas Cowboys come into this game as the favorites, but they have looked like an inferior team so far in the season.
After almost losing to the Kansas City Chiefs before the bye week, many fans have started to doubt them. They have a lot of talented players, but getting it all on the same page is difficult.
The Falcons have done well so far in the season with a 4-1 record and somehow they are the underdogs.
If the Cowboys can play up to their potential, they can win the game. If they don’t, the Falcons could beat them handily. So what should we expect in this game as far as Free NFL Picks go?
The Cowboys are coming off of one of the worst stretches of the season. They lost to the Broncos and then nearly lost to the Chiefs in overtime.
If the Chiefs could have scored after starting at the 49-yard line in overtime, the Cowboys would have lost again.
Things are clearly not going well in Big D. They can move the ball well, but they always seem to shoot themselves in the foot.
Against the Chiefs, they had a muffed punt, a fumbled snap, and several key penalties that allowed the Chiefs to hang around. If they could ever stop beating themselves, they would be a great team.
The Falcons, on the other hand, are a well-coached team. They have a smart leader at quarterback in Matt Ryan.
The addition of Tony Gonzalez has been huge for their offense. Not only do they have Roddy White to stretch the field and Michael Turner to pound away, they now have a threat over the middle.
Anytime you can add the best player in the history of the league at their position to your team, you’re going to be better off, and so far it’s working well. If the Cowboys show up to play, expect a great game in the NFC.
