Cutler said McDaniels stood firm, admitting he did want his own hand crafted product, Matt Cassel, who went 11-5 in 2008 in place of the injured Tom Brady, to ascend to the helm of his offense.
He said that McDaniels stated he was not sorry for attempting to land Cassel, and would do it again in fact, if he had to.
McDaniels made it clear that he would entertain offers for the Pro Bowl QB because he will do whatever he deems best for the organization.
Cutler left the meeting with the exact opposite result he expected, stating:
"I thought he (McDaniels) was antagonizing me and that was disappointing because I was ready to move on, committed as a Bronco. Really, I figured we'd hash things out, shake hands, laugh a little and move forward. ...
